• First, we spend some time to understand your business and your cloud related needs, as well as the historical circumstances that drove the choices in your infrastructure
• Then, we review your AWS estate and identify the cost saving opportunities

At this point, there are usually two ways to proceed:

1. We come in, help you achieve the 80% of the cost saving opportunities we see ("low hanging fruit") as quickly as possible, collect our reward*, your monthly bill now looks a lot better, everybody is happy, we go our separate ways, or...
2. We formulate a long term plan and work with your engineering team (and finance team, where relevant) to educate on how to improve the current situation, and avoid getting in a similar situation in the future.

Keeping your AWS costs at a level that is appropriate to your usage requires education and a consistent effort from everybody who manages and uses your infrastructure.
